Whiskers & Tails Foundation

Founded on February 1, 2005 by Lynne Amano, a vegetarian. Our primary mission is to rescue dogs, cats, to assist needy pet owners, to educate the general public on the humane treatment, and care of all animals.

Our goal is to prevent animal cruelty, and make their lives better while with us. We continue to form relationships with local animal shelters, rescue groups, individuals, volunteers, city, county organizations and supporters.

One of our programs assists senior citizens with their companion animals by finding temporary pet housing, while the owner is hospitalized, in recovery, or permanent homes in cases of the owner’s terminal illness, or death.

Whiskers & Tails Foundation believes in spay and neuter of all animals, especially feral cats. We rescue barnyard animals, and educate public on backyard wildlife.

Event Details

Can I bring my pet/companion animal?

As much as we adore fur babies, please leave them at home. Only service dogs with an official ID will be allowed.

Where can I park?

There will be plenty of street parking. Paid and free lots are also within a short walking distance from the venue. Two parking garages available on 5th & Pine, and another parking garage on 3rd & Tribune, if you don’t mind a further walk. The venue is also a short walking distance from the Metro Blue Line.

Can I buy a pre-sale ticket for one time slot, but show up at another time?

Yes, however priority entrance will only be allowed for the time slot you purchased. If you arrive later or earlier than the time slot you purchased for, you will enter through the general entrance, instead of the priority entrance line. No exceptions. We are doing this to avoid overcrowding and ensure the safety of our attendees.

I want to pay at the door instead of ordering a ticket online. Can I pay with a card?

No. Entrance at the door will be cash only. Adults are $5, children up to 12 years-old are free.

Will vendors take cards?

While most of our vendors will accept card, we can’t guarantee all of them will be accepting cash.

Can I bring alcohol or outside food?

Sorry but no outside food or alcohol will be allowed. We will have plenty of vendors selling delicious food, and drinking is not allowed in the venue.

Can I bring my kids?

Sure! Our event is all ages.

Will there be entertainment?

DJ’s Lissy Suede & Nelson Rome of The Long Beach Vegan Social, will be playing some tunes for your enjoyment.

Can I bring containers for food we purchase?

We encourage it! The less waste, the better!

Will there be a dining area?

Unfortunately no. If you’ve attended our previous events, you know we usually have designated eating areas. Since this is a smaller pop-up, while there will be space to hang out inside and outside of the venue, there will be no designated eating areas with seats or tables.
